This bowl is by Kasama based potter Kenji Tayama.  Someone with a traditional approach in Japanese ceramics, and a dedication to wood firing.  Materials, and natural decoration are at the centre of his work  This bowl is completed in the kohiki technique, with a layer of slip decorating the surface of the work beneath a translucent glaze.

It would be suitable for ramen, or a donburi style rice dish or other hearty
